Sea Star – Malibu

Currently under construction, this is a 6000 sf. home with subterranean garage, infinity
pool and 900 sf. guest studio. The kitchen, dining and living rooms all share one open
volume with a free standing fireplace – all surrounded on three sides by glass walls.
The subterranean garage entry to the house begins with a glass enclosed floating stair
and landscaped courtyard that open to the main floor above. The L-shaped plan
surrounds an infinity pool overlooking a seasonal creek and foliage. A second open
stair leading to the bedrooms is framed by a linear series of interlocking poured
concrete walls. The master has a sunset view over the Pacific and large rooftop patio
surrounded by a low lying Japanese garden. A series of large landscaped terraces
gently step down from the main house to a simple glass enclosed multi-purpose studio
structure.
